USING TECHNOLOGY IN FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHING

Usually, each language class utilizes some type of technology. Technology has been used to support language learning and to improve it. Technology allows educators to adapt operations in the classroom to improve the language learning process. As an instrument to help educators facilitate language learning for their learners, technology remains to expand in significance.

Technology has always been a significant component of the setting of teaching and learning. It is an important component of the profession of educators through which to promote the learning of learners. The term ‘ integration’ is used when we speak about technology in teaching and learning. As technology is part of our daily life, it’s time to rethink the concept of incorporating technology into the curriculum and strive to incorporate technology into teaching to promote the learning process. In other words, technology becomes an essential component of the learning experience and a major problem for educators, from the start of learning experiences through to the process of teaching and learning.

To attain the required foreign language skills, learners need to spend time, effort and enormous resources in their schools to cater to distinct learning styles. To be cost-effective, language teaching institutions are striving to provide intensive instruction in the foreign language (FL) to reduce the time required to learn the target language. This illustrates the keen interest in mixing distinct methodologies with learning systems that promise to motivate learners and react to their requirements efficiently. In reality, the use of technology in teaching settings has usually presented itself as a requirement for ongoing lifelong learning with studies indicating that schools that are lagging behind in incorporating technology will not be able to satisfy the requirements of knowledge-based communities and therefore will not survive the shift in the education paradigm.

However, certain circumstances must be met in order to attain the complete advantages of ICT in any FL learning organization. These include computer accessibility and e-learning experts, and the existence of a strong infrastructure that is essential to any IT integration achievement. Among other things, the infrastructure involves pcs, quick Internet connection, safe platforms, knowledge, and ongoing teacher training, the last being discovered critical to the achievement of language classroom use of technology.

In the field of foreign language teaching, the growing and rapid growth of information and communication technologies cannot go unnoticed as the advantages have increased and the fresh generations are technologically knowledgeable, being digital natives. It is therefore essential to continue exploring the circumstances under which technology can best be used in order to exploit its prospective advantages and tackle the barriers.

Students feel encouraged and interested in using the technological instruments in schools in particular because they allow them to learn more efficiently in an interactive manner according to their individual requirements, and thus the curiosity of the learners arises. Technology also offers a vibrant teaching process for educators and learners; however, they do not take complete benefit of it. Technological instruments are suggested for educators to use as additional resources because they can learn English more readily thanks to the learners; in addition, efficient use of technology provides teachers with the chance to show learners how thousands of operations and games bring dynamics and fun into the classroom.
